Feeds & Speeds Guidelines:

Running your cutters at an optimal feed rate and spindle speed is imperative to achieving an optimal chip load, which in turn results in the desired finish and prolonged tool life.

The perfect “Cut Recipe” for any given router bit can and does vary vastly from machine to machine and will depend on a few factors, to mention a few:
Machine Build, Rigidity & Condition.
Spindle Power, RPM Range and Torque Curve.
Work Holding Solution.
Cooling and/or lubrication for materials prone to chip welding, such as acrylic and aluminium (Air Assist, Mist or Flood).

If you are uncertain as to what feeds and speeds you should be using for any given cutter, a good place to start might be FSWizard, who have a free to use web based app, and paid for Android and Apple mobile Apps. This is to be used at your own risk and is best used with a conservative depth of cut and stepover and tweaked until you have a “Sweet Spot” for your machine and cutter.
